call me jacki; zuisa is an internet nick from ancient times =)

Thanks!!

I am still on ships! I don't love it anymore, and I am trying to figure out something else to do, but I did go and meet a boy and fell in love and now I'm more hanging around for him. Some days that feels pathetic, and some days it feels romantic, but it is what it is.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Hi Zuisa!

Well, I should hear about the job at the nearby university today or tomorrow. The waiting is making me nuts! I did hear from the not-so-near university about another job (lower pay, longer commute, more interesting work content), and they're waiting to get sign off on funding before pulling the hiring trigger, but I'm apparently a decent contender there. And I'd get to add Coursera course creation to my resume, which would be nice. I think I'd rather have the closer, higher paying job. It seems like it would have some interesting challenges, and there's be some resume fodder there, too.

Honestly, at this point I just want a job offer.

Hi, zuisa! I totally remember you!

Good luck with the certification test, Anne!

Looks like I'm volunteering tomorrow, too, even though I'm not signed up. The kids are so cute, and so enthusiastic. One kid figured out that you could rack up a really high score on the program-your-own Flappy Bird game by adding multiple 'Add Score' blocks to the avoid obstacle event. I told him that it was exactly what a real programmer would do. :-)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The waiting is making me nuts!

Sister! I still don't know if I have have it--waiting on their reaction to my drug test results is making me want to smash my head into a wall. And there are always more questions?

I also need to arrange health insurance, because the position doesn't come with any and COBRA expires this month.

All this for a year contract...

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Hi, zuisa! I remember you! I was talking to someone the other day about Harbin and thought about you. Good to see your pixels again!

Once a Buffista, always a Buffista. It may not be a coincidence that our board initials work out to Borg.

Oh, yes, that does suck. After a point I think that people would be better off just hiring someone (ideally you and me) and moving on. If it doesn't work out, then in most situations you can just hire someone else. I picture people sitting in an office comparing comma placement in various cover letters for days and days while the job continues to go unfilled. And then complaining about how there's just so much work that needs doing. OK, that's probably not what's happening. But my mind is cynical and tending toward a dim view of non-b.org humanity.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good job luck, you guys!!

Theo, were you at the Kennedy? I know an 8th grader there! His name is Chet.

So, sometimes it does pay to be chatty, which I am not usually. After I told the cashier at Chipotle I don't need a bag, I said it was because I just work around the corner, and come to find out, the cashier is my grandboss's daughter! Hilarious.

Oh, I forgot to report that I got my eclipse viewers yesterday. Not that I will see the sun for a while, but I'm ready.

I didn't see any Chets, but there was a 'Dhienyffer' (pronounced Jennifer). But then I was at the Winter Hill school, not Kennedy.

That's pretty chatty, Jesse! Also, I think you should find a new job and the hit on your work boyfriend. Who cares about inappropriate?

Welcome back, zuisa! If you're still doing cruises you must have been EVERYWHERE by now, wow!

Flea, if it helps any, the other day I had this crazy nightmare that I was hard core stalking Neil Patrick Harris. Like, moved into his building and was spying on him and eventually killed his husband or something??? It was so weird. The whole time I was like "no, stop!" But in the dream kept doing awful things. IRL, he's cool, but I feel zero need to stalk him.
