I think I need a second cup of coffee. I have gotten myself into one of those cycles where I need coffee to get through the morning because I had trouble getting to sleep the night before, probably because of having too much coffee the previous morning. And I was doing so well cutting back for a while there. A goal better suited to after solstice, I suppose.

Onerous 2 - done-ish. First available appt is on the 19th. The appointment gal sent a message to my doc about getting me in earlier and/or getting labs drawn soon. I hate feeling like this. I don't want to leave the house, I just want to curl up in a ball.

-t, I can get through the whole summer on one cup of coffee a day. But that's about it. Once teaching starts, I needs my coffee like whoa.

That makes sense, Burrell. It was supposedly our peak season when I started cutting back, but things have not started slowing down and I am feeling like I am needing more. But then not falling asleep at night even though I am all tuckered out, or I wouldn't mind drinking more coffee.

So what's a good way to word an email to a potential employer who I'm pretty sure isn't going to offer me the job? (They said they were putting together an offer, then we had a couple of calls, then total radio silence for the past three weeks.) So far I have:

Dear [people]

I hope you all had a pleasant Thanksgiving holiday! I am writing just to touch base and check to make sure you weren't waiting on any more information from me regarding the open position at [company]. [something about how I'm still really excited about the possibility of working at such a great company and hope to hear from them soon]

Thanks, -t. I'm trying to plow on work so I can drive to the photography place before my karate lesson, get home shower/change, and go to my meeting tonight. I kinda want to fink out on karate, but I'll be in SLC next week. I don't HAVE to pick up the pictures today, but they are only open til 4 each day and I'm psyched to see them today.

Sorry for all the fuss. When the kids are home or when I'm out and about, I try to keep the "it's all good" mask on. Here, I know y'all understand. Or I hope you do.

Oh, hey, in all my complaining about drinking too much coffee I managed to get myself on to tea time without having that second cup after all. Not bad, grousing brain. Pretty sure you still shouldn't be in charge, though.

Jess, I'd rephrase "weren't waiting on more info" so that it doesn't sound like you are saying "to see if there were any more hoops you wanted me the jump through." Maybe "if there is anything I can add" or some such?

I just made more coffee for myself, -t.
