Protests in Oakland and Berkeley got violent again. Vandalism and fire.
The main body of the protestors were peaceful and trying to contain an anarchist contingent (known as the "Black Bloc") who seek violent confrontation with the police and lots of fire and vandalism.
There was a march in my neighborhood today which I think was a previously planned peace march, but took on a different timbre after a fatal shooting on Friday night. I could certainly hear the CPD helicopter overhead for several hours.
