So, my alarm is smart enough to know it's a weekend and not go off, but it doesn't know it's a holiday, so on Thursday I turned it off so I could sleep in and apparently never turned it on again because this morning I overslept by more than an hour. So much for getting the month started off right. The really sad part is I don't feel well-rested, I could've kept sleeping for another hour or two easy.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
-t, I did the same thing. I need another weekend.
Post-holiday recovery weekend. Let's make that a thing.
And now three weeks of 5-day workweeks, how am I supposed to manage that? At least I'll have a couple of days of working the outlet sale in there, which is still work but is at least different and a change is as good as a rest, right? (No, it is not, but it is better than no change)
I dreamed that I was painting an old-fashioned (think 50s) novel cover, which somehow morphed into doing an installation of tiny cut-crystal mythological figures hung in a curtain in front of a sheer red fabric panel. I wish I could remember exactly what they were, the whole thing was beautiful.
So I've got to find some kind of authentic feeling of family around science fiction fandom to write about, even though I haven't really felt that way in a couple decades.
Could you maybe write about collaborative husband-and-wife authors like CL Moore and Henry Kuttner?
Ooh, that sounds lovely, Matt.

I would like Matt to come and decorate my place so that I can settle in and watch Tom's movie.
I would watch Tom's movie.
Hey, did you guys know that you can watch Kings on the NBC site? [link] That show was just a couple of years ahead of its time.
Aww, hell. I DID NOT NEED TO KNOW THAT!
Gronk. Somehow, I apparently hadn't been in here since September. Apparently, also, job hunting sucks away my will to do... anything.
I kind of worked myself into a crappy attitude about my job toward the end of the weekend, but I'm going to try to refocus and support myself via pats on my own back. Right now, I have two that are non work-related: I remembered to turn my alarm clock back on over the weekend, and I am dieting via not getting sour cream on my bowl from Chipotle.
Aww, hell. I DID NOT NEED TO KNOW THAT!
I think maybe you did need to know that.
