Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Mmmm....cherry pie.

Hey, did you guys know that you can watch Kings on the NBC site? [link] That show was just a couple of years ahead of its time.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, hey, I liked that show. I'll have to figure out if I saw all the episodes or not.

That TJ's Hatch salsa is no joke. I used half a cup to season a pound of ground beef and it's pretty hot.

Good luck with the new gig, Kat. I hadn't thought about it in terms of brand new students in the middle of the year.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I'm sorry, Connie. I'm glad you have pie.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Blast it. I promised to write something about "family in science fiction fandom" for someone's long-running fanzine, and now I wish I hadn't. It's been a long time since I wrote anything intended for public consumption, and this guy is starting to get on my nerves again. (I've known him for 35 years. He's not a bad person, but he can't seem to help being an ass.) It's hard enough getting the creative spark flying again. Now I just don't want to. But I promised, and I'm sick of not following through on these kinds of promises. So I've got to find some kind of authentic feeling of family around science fiction fandom to write about, even though I haven't really felt that way in a couple decades.

I had another Thanksgiving dinner at a neighbor's tonight, complete with leftovers. Mmmmmm, such good stuffing!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Heh. First time an Uber passenger asked me to wait with the "meter" running. I totally feel like I'm the taxi on The Amazing Race.

hwæt

So last night I watched the mediocre Bradley Cooper movie The Words. Then I dreamed a much better ending to the movie, and I was upset this morning that it wasn't the real ending.

In the movie, Bradley Cooper is a failed author, who discovers someone else's manuscript, who he passes off as his own, and becomes a famous author. Last night I dreamed that at the end the movie, his agent starts sending him around the world, where he has Indiana Jones type adventures searching for other lost manuscripts, which he then steals and passes off as his own.
