I just did a clothing pass on the right side of my closet while watching the first episode of Jane the Virgin. Now I have another bag to donate.
I like the way the walls go out. Gives you an open feeling. Firefly is a good design. People don't appreciate the substance of things. Objects in space. People miss out on what's solid.

I had to buy groceries today, and due to some lapse of common sense I went to the new mega-Kroger that just opened a few days ago. Gridlock front to back, people standing around gawking and visiting with friends while blocking intersections. Luckily they announced some free gift giveaway on one side of the store when I was almost done and I managed to break away toward the checkout lines in the opposite direction.
Bonus: Got Little Drummer Boy'd while backing my car out.

Franny and Cody went thru her closet just now and got rid of two bags of stuff, one for donate, one for her wee cousin. If anyone here wants a bag of girls dresses and jackets, sizes 6-8, let me know.
And meanwhile? Making lentils for dinner, which luckily corresponds well with wine and buffistas.

I wish there were as many outlets for donation around here as there are in "real" cities. We've got the non-denominational thrift store, we've got the Mormon thrift store, then there's the homeless shelter/food bank. And even then it's not an actual shelter, because the city fathers don't want a place where "those sorts" would congregate.

I am so in the mood to get rid of stuff! I'm even culling books, which I never could bring myself to do before this summer. I discovered my local SPCA has a nice bookstore section, and apparently they do brisk business. The lady who works there said a man "comes down from the other side of the mountains" looking for books for his bookstore (I pictured Grizzly Adams with a library cart) every Thursday and buys bunches of books from them. So my books get good homes and the money goes to support the cats and dogs. Win-win-win-win.

That awesome, Zenkitty. I know my library really doesn't take them anymore. There are a few curbside lending libraries I have seen in front of people's homes around here. In Otter Lake the local pub has shelves of books for lending. I figured on sending some of mine there when I go back in the summer.
