I tried to go to Best Buy to recycle stuff on my way to meet a fellow fan for drinks, but I totally forgot about the Festival of Lights (it shut down Michigan Ave), so that didn't happen. I'm now erasing data from my ancient iBook G4 so I can make another attempt tomorrow on my way to brunch.

I did not manage to donate my books or my electronics. But I figure I am home for THREE WHOLE WEEKS in December (!!), and will have plenty of time to purge before the new year.
I did manage to buy a new suitcase (hope it holds up), lightbulb, and other sundries. Now if I can just manage to pack tonight so I don't forget stuff for my trip....
My computers have always gotten names based on my old Star Wars fanfic, so the WiFi is Starfighter Command.
My friends who host Artemis nights every once in a while? "Bill Wi the Science Fi." LOVE.
Bill Wi the Science Fi.
Also excellent.
Since I went to a friends Thanksgiving dinner yesterday, that means the most wonderful time of the year has officially arrived. That's right--it's now Leftover Pie for Breakfast season. Celebrate as your culture and/or religion allows.

Any recommendations?
If every weekend featured a Harvard/Yale game, this Uber gig will be very very good. Certainly, driving early on a weekend morning means less traffic frustration. To my surprise, I even picked up a fare in Everett on my way back from the airport, and another fare in East Boston on my second trip back from the airport, which balanced the trip for the toll fee. (Yeah, I don't get to tag on the tunnel toll the way a taxi does.)
I cancelled on lunch with my sister & her BF because this new BP med is making me feel like shit. While I don't like feeling bad, I'm glad to have a good excuse to not go fetch Subway sandwiches for them, stagger up their long steep driveway*, and sit on their uncomfortable chairs. Seriously, there's not one comfortable chair in the place. The dining room chairs are antiques and two of them I'm literally afraid will crack under my weight, the other two need their cushions replaced, and the living room has one old futon and one chair that would be comfortable if it weren't sagging down to the floor. Apparently I'm the only one who is bothered by this.
* I don't drive up the driveway because there's no room for me to park at the top, and the driveway isn't straight so getting down again is fraught anyway. Yeah, I don't like going over there.

Don't mind if i do! Happen to have made pumpkin pie yesterday, although it would be stretching the truth to call it Leftover. Eating it for breakfast anyway.
Sorry the BP meds are unpleasant, Zen. Also your sister's chairs and driveway.
I had pumpkin pie with/for three meals on Friday and two yesterday! Nom.
Of course the water heater broke again this morning. I took a cold shower and tried to restart it but no dice. Fingers crossed roomie can fix it easily and doesn't have to get a plumber while I'm on vacation. ;(
