Good one, Theo!
Somehow in the last hour, I convinced myself it was Friday, and then had a very rude awakening! Ah well. Still only a few working days before Thanksgiving.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

It is my friday!
And dear god, I'm talking a coworker through rightclicking in office excel. Ferfuckssake, she's the one on a pc for the past couple of decades, she doesn't know that??

It's horrifying how many simple things people who work on computers every day don't know. Of course, if they don't need them, there's no reason to know these functions, but they shouldn't act all offended when we try to explain things to them. I've wasted minutes on people who refuse to say they don't know what I mean by right-clicking or drag-and-drop.
One of the benefits of working from home like a hermit is that I don't have to deal with the anguished cries of co-workers who "lost the internet", "got a Word virus that deleted my menu thing", and think you can open any file created in ANY program (like, say, Adobe Illustrator) through Word, and if you CAN'T open it, then the file is "a virus".
All true.
"It didn't save my changes!" "Did you save it?" "It didn't say I had to!" "When you closed it, did it ask if you wanted to save it?" "I just closed that window, I didn't read it. This is such a piece of crap!"
Sigh.
Yeah, I once let my Driver's License expire - and that's not on some random day, it was my birthday!
Yes, but I maintain the year it expires is totally random and therefore forgettable. Until it happens. I once had to run out and renew on my bday because I had forgotten it was about it expire. Duh!
Renewing driver's licenses has become a huge pain now that we've got to have all these damned identifying documents. I had to get my birth certificate and marriage license to prove my existence and justify the name difference between current DL and birth certificate. I got Hubby's adoption papers from Hawaii on the off chance his California birth certificate had a different name on it, but California had a revised certificate with his adopted name on it. Which I didn't realize because Hawaii was a whole lot more efficient about getting documents back to me than California was, but it was fun chatting with the folks in the Hawaiian state records office. They do answer the phone with Aloha.
Ugh, I think I'm going to get a new DL this year, even though I still have a year to go on my NY license. I mean, I've been in MA for five years! I've just been avoiding the DMV (RMV) since I don't actually drive.
The Virginia DMV was absolutely insane when I was trying to get my DL here. It took three visits and multiple offerings of paperwork.
When Uber did the background check on me, I found out that my driving record "only" goes back to 1982 -- which is the year I switched over to an MA license from a NJ one. Not that there were any tickets or anything outstanding.
Not totally coincidentally, I don't think I got a car until sometime in 1985.
Let me tell you after a morning of talking to peopledriving and then tutoring a loud bunch of (thankfully) attentive teenagers, I'm socially wore out.
