JFC, testing just ran into major performance issues. This is a major redesign and we're pushing up against some hard deadlines and… I can't even.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Are you absolutely certain your job isn't actually a hidden camera reality show or possibly a sociological experiment?
It's a bunch of software engineers and astronomers trying to work together, it's totally a twisted sociological experiment!
I am waiting for my boss to respond to my self-evaluation, which I turned in late (with her permission, which she's now apparently forgotten that she gave).
I've got my first college-application tutoring today, even after I pointed out that my most-relevant qualification for this is that I once wrote an application that got me into a college. (Yeah, the journalism classes and professional writing helps too, but really.)
Could be anywhere from "Help! I have no ideas for this essay!" to "Help me render my gripping and emotional essay into grammatical English" to "I can't figure out how to scan this letter of recommendation and upload it onto the college website."
You are a brave woman, Theo. I look forward to your stories. (I jest. You'll do great, and it'll be fun! But I am looking forward to the stories.)
I have zero interest in working today. I am forcing myself to get paper off my desk so I have done appearance of working.
What would be worse: putting things on my Amazon wish list, or looking for jobs?
Define "worse".
CJ's post high school goal is to get into the fire science program at the local community college. I finally got him to make an appointment to talk with an advisor. There are 4 fire science AA degrees, so he needs to work out which once he is most interessted in, check on prerequisites, get ideas on how to deal with his HS grades and still be able to get into the program and such. I've already talked with him about taking gen ed courses if he doesn't get into the program he wants next year.
That sounds like a good plan, Suzi.
Suela, fingers crossed for TNG.
