BTW, Theo, I think it's really cool that you are tutoring!
I'm afraid my computer is suddenly dying! It froze up, wouldn't restart, and is now taking forever to repair itself. Ugh. Good thing I have the work computer here!

Horrible cough seems to be a side effect of one of the BP meds. Okay. That's the same med I don't want to take anymore anyway, because of the side effects.
Like Laura said, the class of BP meds called ACE inhibitors ("ACE" = "angiotensin-converting enzyme") are known to cause cough. IIRC, any drug whose generic name ends in "-pril" is an ACE inhibitor. (For instance, brand-name Lotensin is generic name benazepril.)
Oddly, I take an ACE inhibitor (the aforementioned benazepril) and have not had a cough with it. (I say "oddly," because generally if there's a side effect to be had with ANY drug, I get it.)
I don't like taking medicine. They all seem like a deal with the Devil, you only get the good from it by losing something else.
That can be true in a lot of cases. Like I said, I don't have any side effects from my BP meds (as far as I know). But, like I also said, I do totally get side effects from other drugs. Shit, the list of what I can't take because it wants to kill me is growing every year, and it worries me that I am running out of antibiotics I can safely take.
I think meds can be a great thing and save lives (and lengthen/improve the quality of lives), but they aren't perfect.
I have switched out the summer for winter clothes. A few more things in the get rid of pile.
Mac needed new tennis shoes so we went to get some today. SIZE 11!! I know you people with tall genes are not gonna think anything about that for a boy child, but my dad wears 9.5s. Mac is 13.
I've seen that kid, I'm not surprised. But boys shoe sizes often plateau around his age. They grow into their feet.

Oh, yeah, not saying otherwise; I don't want to try to cure everything with herbs and crystals... but like you, if there's a weird or uncommon side effect to a medication, I usually get it. Luckily, there are several different types of meds for reducing blood pressure, and when I see my regular doctor in a week, I'll talk to him about it.
Size 11? Unpossible!
I have failed to accomplish even half of what I needed to do today. sigh. Getting my girl through middle school just might kill me.
Zenkitty - when I got the Lisopril cough I was switched to Losartan.
I don't want to try to cure everything with herbs and crystals...
I'm willing to do meds AND wacky herb tinctures. My branch of woo doesn't embrace the idea that the shiny rocks will have any measurable effect, but they're very pretty to look at. Like this one: [link] I want THAT. It gives off an air of if hexing you doesn't work, I will bash your skull in with it.

I approve of spell components that can do duty as backup weapons.
Timelies all!
Going to a concert tonight.(S.J. Tucker)
