'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Hmmm, Laura, next time maybe let the GF take him for medical treatment? (That's one way of growing up in a relationship real fast. Sort of brings the whole 'in sickness and health' thing into focus.)

Zen, you're not the only one that I've run into with that exact reaction to BP meds, evidently one kind really will do that to some people. This is why medicine is an art, not a science.

I'm steeling myself up to balance my checkbook. It feels like Schroedinger's Bank Account at the moment, what with the massive transfer for the rebuilt engine last month....

Our wings are not tired.

21 - 22 in January.

Good grief! You can tell I am frazzled. The boy will be 23 in Jan.

Yeah. Apparently the lip issue happened when he was at a party with girlfriend and he took off because he was freaked out. And since he didn't have a phone none of his friends or girlfriend knew what happened to him or where he went. When the GF found out where he was and that he was going to the clinic/hospital she took the bus/tri-rail to see him. It took her 2-1/2 hours. Gotta give her effort points. She showed up at the hospital with her skateboard that she uses to get to and from transport stops.

He was in quite a state when he arrived at the house with his face all blown up. All huggy. Asked me if he was going to die several times. Clearly under the influence. I didn't take him to the clinic until the next morning because he was not going to die, just was going to be miserable for a bit. Still will be for a while too since he is not so great about following doctor's orders either.

Ah, parenting. Any of you considering it, don't listen to me. They are created super cute and stuff so you don't kill them when they get older.

green tea:

GF is a little doll who shares my name. Colombian girl. An artist. She had a sketchpad and markers in her backpack and drew while we waited and then when we got back to the house and he snoozed. I offered her a ride home or to stay and get a ride in the morning, but she had someone come pick her up.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

The thermostat is set on 70 and I am FREEZING. When actual winter gets here I am clearly going to DIE.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

She sounds lovely.

Above sounded snarky but she really does sound like a nice person.

Thanks, Cass. That is how I took the comment. And yes, I liked her quite a lot.

Zen, you know that is my cue to remind you, and others, that it is mighty warm here. 7:30pm and still 77F.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The thermostat is set on 70 and I am FREEZING.

I just had a similar experience! Usually I think 68 is plenty hot, but not tonight! So I bumped it up.

Oh Laura, your son is a trial! Good luck to you both. (All?) A nice girlfriend seems like a good start, at least.

I finished my work! And sent it off for review, which I hope I won't get until the morning. I may not check until the morning. Then I just have some non thinky stuff I can do tomorrow.

Questions:

My boss said to call her when I emailed her the stuff, because she doesn't always check work email. I texted her. That should do, right?

Does anyone here know offhand about weights of paper? Like, what's the weight that's a little nicer than crappy office paper, but not super fancy?
