Blake doesn't bother me that much, though this subplot could probably be shorter. I do have a bad feeling about her father's life expectancy.
ION, I've always felt that Yang's VA was the weakest of the regular cast and this week cemented it. It doesn't help that her big scene was with
Raven
whose VA is also pretty bad.
Man,
Rebels
has been killing it this season. They did a story dealing with Saw Gurerra and the differences between his vision of the Rebellion and our heroes, they brought in Rukh, and now they're finally getting into what the Empire wants on Lothal.
It's a shame it's the last season. I've really been enjoying it.

I wonder if this was the secret project she and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn worked on together where they completely derailed the first meeting by geeking out about their respective D&D characters.
My wife expressed an interest in RWBY so I started watching it again with her. I'd forgotten just how much lighter the tone was in the first season. Also, as rough as the animation is, the fight scenes are a lot more interesting than we get currently (which I realize is because of Monty Oum's passing. He was taken way too soon.)
I recently rewatched, and I was left with the exact same impression.
And the story line is way too slow. I miss the interest in all the various characters at Beacon.
Blake's story has definitely been dragging, a lot, this season, but I've been enjoying the other Beacon students having a chance to reunite and be friends again without the constant doom and gloom of the second half of season 3 and pretty much all of season 4.
But Blake's story has been incredibly slow and incredibly predictable. The only surprising thing so far is (True Colors spoiler)
that both of Blake's parents have survived
.
Of course, it's been so long since anything truly terrible has happened that I'm expecting the end of the season to gut punch us.
My wife and I have made it to season 2 and I just realized all the team up attacks that Ruby calls out in the fight against the giant robot are based on the color and/or names of the characters involved.
