That was a level-up in terms of animation quality. I wonder if they're going to sustain that for the series.
Animation 1: I'm Not Bad, I'm Just Drawn That Way
A thread to discuss television and online animation.
Yeah, the quality is way above what we've seen previously.
On a story note, Ruby seems (understandably) a little unhinged by the events of the previous season. Her facial expressions during the battle were kind of scary at points.
ETA: She also seems to have seriously improved in the use of her Semblance.

If one wants to discuss current Japanese anime, would this be the right place? Anyone for squeeing over Yuri on Ice!!!?
I would certainly think this would be the place to discuss anime, though I'm sadly completely out of the loop these days.
I do not know Yuri on Ice. How would you describe it?
A sad little skating prince(ss) named Yuri loses a competition and returns to his hometown to drown his sorrows. A friend records him skating a routine that the champion had done, which then goes viral. The champion, Victor, is fascinated with skating prince(ss) and drops out of competition to coach Yuri. It is the most slashtastic thing on animated ice you could ever hope for.
Hmmmm, anime and figure skating. I may have to check this out.
It can be found on Kissanime.co.com. Here's a link to episode 1: [link]

First episode of RWBY Vol 4 is available to non-subscribers.
So the animation upgrade in that earlier short is indicative of the what series looks like now. Very nice.
Still don't understand why the bad guys are doing what they're doing.
