A thread to discuss television and online animation.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Wow! What a finale!! I agree, sad to see her like that. But, it will make for an interesting arc for next season. A super hero with depression and/or PTSD? Can't believe the amount of destruction! The temple!! It's gone!! I do like the decision to make the air benders nomadic. I think it will also help convince new benders to join the group, rather than seclusion in a far away temple.

(Spoiler font, cuz I'm not sure how soon I can post stuff. I'm west coast, so I think it's safe. But, rather look silly than piss folks off).

I can't believe they got that P'Li scene through.

So, like, Su slapped the steel cap on her head just as she went boom? Eww. I hadn't realized that's what happened.

I also had forgotten that Mako could bend lightning.

I'm surprised nobody died: I kind of figured someone had to.

But did anyone else think it was odd how much attention they paid to that metal-bender Kuvara (sp?)? She's going to be important.

Oh crap. I didn't realize that either.

Very happy Jinora got her stripes. When she started the group thing, I was like "Her dad better give he the tattoo's now!" Happy that's how it ended

(Do I need spoiler font or no?)

Was that the Captain that was chatting with Korra's dad?? Yeah, I figured it was setting her up for something next season.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

So, like, Su slapped the steel cap on her head just as she went boom? Eww. I hadn't realized that's what happened.

Yeeeeeep. She blew her own fucking head up. Sleep well, kids! And now a talking sponge that lives under the sea.

I also had forgotten that Mako could bend lightning.

Me too!

Book 4: EVERYONE DIES.

But did anyone else think it was odd how much attention they paid to that metal-bender Kuvara (sp?)? She's going to be important.

Yeah, seemed like she was flirting with him. Apparently she's voiced by Henry Rollins's daughter. AVC reviewer thinks she's a Red Lotus spy. Could be!

(Do I need spoiler font or no?)

No, it's not airing on television anymore. (I hadn't realized it went up so early, though, and got spoiled about the lava bending from Kalshane's post, which I'm glad wasn't more detailed!)

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I didn't realize either, until I saw a gif of the scene, and you can see the metal bulging and light coming through the joins just before the scene cuts away. I'm starting to think that there are some other reasons than the ones we've heard why this show went to online vs. broadcast. Brrr...

Also, her death just made me sad in a lot of ways, now that we got to hear a little bit of her backstory and see more of her with Zaheer.

It was also interesting to see that they didn't just have Korra bounce back from being physically (poisoned, thrown against rocks a LOT) and mentally traumatized. I'll be very interested to see how they handle it in Book 4. Given the quality of this season, I do have confidence that it'll be handled well. I can see Korra having a VERY hard time dealing with being physically weak, given that how much she seemed to rely in and rejoice in her strength.

I thought they already did something with that--in the last scenes in the wheelchair, Korra's arms and shoulders looked noticeably thinner. And yeah, it can totally happen that fast: I lost a bunch of muscle when I was laid up after my surgery.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Dang, that was a great finale. Jinora's Air Master ceremony gave me allergies.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Sorry about the spoilage, P-C. I actually had the day off of work Friday and was able to watch shortly after it went online. Glad I stayed mostly vague.

I agree the focus on the metal-bending captain seemed a little odd, and I agree it seemed like she was flirting with Tonroq.

Self-detonation seems to be common cause of death for combustion benders, but yeah, the writers did a good job of making the Red Lotus feel like people and not just villains.

I will say that I was very glad when Avatar State Korra started kicking butt. Zaheer apparently should have read up on his history on what tends to happen when people try to force the Avatar into the Avatar State. It didn't work out so well for General Fong either, though he fared a little better.

As I said, I feel really bad for Korra. Like Anne said, she's always reveled in her strength.

I do wonder how much of a cheer there was from the Korra/Asami shippers after Asami's "Or anything else" line.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I would have liked more backstory on the Red Lotus members. We got very little on the water and lava benders.
