Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Apple bread in the oven. I've got to get faster at going through these apples! Yikes.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

That sounds like a great exhibit, Sheryl. Have fun!

Me, I'm taking Dad to my sister's dog show, where we will see the Diva be a star in the obedience rally ring, and then get ignored by the conformation (beauty show) judge. Plus, lots of other beautiful dogs, like German shepherds and corgis and whatnot. And fair food--I might have to buy some funnel cake, or maybe even a deep-fried twinkie...

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ooh, both Da Vinci and dog shows sound great to me!

I have way more to do today than actual motivation. I'm interested to see how that plays out. Perhaps another cup of coffee would help...

Eta: there's always applesauce if the baking doesn't use them up fast enough.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Applesauce feels like failure to me. I wonder if a bread like this one would freeze. Maybe.

I can understand that.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Had a great birthday dinner for my dad last night (his 77th) at Dixie Cafe, where all three of us were stuffed to the gills with turkey & dressing. Then one of my cousins stopped by to visit with him afterwards, giving him candies and a new Cubs hat that unfortunately didn't fit his freakishly small head.

Also, when I stopped by with farmer's market goodies yesterday morning, for the first time since last year Mom's cat didn't flee my arrival, but stuck around to be petted.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have pie crust chilling. The sensible thing to do would be to start the filling cooking before I get in the shower, but...unh.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Applesauce feels like failure to me.

Apple Butter. Mmmmm.

Because books.

Oh god, apple butter. No way that's a failure. MMMM.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I am off to Pilates and then got work/work to do(writing job descriptions, how thrilling) then going to see Captain Phillips tonight. Because I lead a glamorous life, that includes dinner at Panda Express.
