There are some people of the opinion that they won't act up as much in February because it is an election year.
I guess it will come down to how many are worried about being primaried by the Tea Party faithful. If the Tea Party is still considered a significant force in Republican politics, then we may see a bunch of Republican Congressmen doubling down on the stupid.
Which would do nice things for Democrats chances in the fall, but I'd rather not wreck the country and it's credit rating in the process.
right? Well, some moderate Repubs and Dems are trying for a left (-ish) challenge to GOP members who like mucking up the works. That might be nice.

Does it involve punching them in the throat? I hope it does.
I will settle for the ol' flaming bag of poo on the doorstep, also.
Delaying another reckoning closer in to Primary season should make for good political theater.
Here's something for the Harry Potter fans: a documentary someone's making about the rise of Quidditch as an actual sport.
Consuela, this coming weekend in my neighborhood is the Harry Potter Festival, because the local college hosts a 6-college Quidditch tournament.
Unless the moderate Repubs and the Dems are willing to take away some of the procedural toys that the Tea Party are using to manipulate events, we are going to wind up with more of the same.
I have a Quidditch tournament near me every year. Can you call it Quidditch if you can't fly on brooms?
We saw photos of kids playing Quidditch on a poster at a local college, and my kids were appalled/hilarious. "Are they just running? With brooms between their legs? What IS this?"
What alternative is there to not flying on brooms?
You run around with a broom in your hand. What's not to like?
Er wait, I just reread and I see we are saying the same thing.
As you were.
