Now to find a recipe I saw this week, somewhere.
Ha! I posted that one here, and I have one in the oven RIGHT NOW. (The second one of the weekend - pie-cake #1 was for family to test, pie-cake #2 I will bring to work for Bake Club: Apple.)
Good job, msbelle (and mac)!
Just got back from lunch with my newest co-worker, where we ranted about everything we don't like about this job. She's really sad I'm leaving; I think it won't be long before she quits too. I'm sorry it hasn't worked out for her, but selfishly a little glad that it wasn't just me who found our office really clique-y and weird.
Ooh, I want apple pie-cake!!
Epic thanks for the offer but I got in at 1130 last night and am leaving after work!

Excellent! I am excited. I have had a springform pan for years and have yet to use it.
I am tempted to make that in a non-springform pan, as I haven't got one. But then again, as long as the oatmeal holds out, I will be quite happy with apple crisp.
It would definitely work in a regular cake pan, the only advantage to the springform is it makes the first slice easier to serve.
Aaaaand I just realized I forgot (again) to nonstick-cooking-spray the pan before I put the apples in. Oh well, it released well enough yesterday.
OH, and I also highly recommend substituting up to 1 cup of the oil with sour cream, if you want it to taste like the Little Pie Company's sour-cream walnut apple pie.*
*Adding walnuts would also help in this regard.
OOOH. Will do!
Do I actually need caster sugar?
