Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yay Maria! Congrats!

I agree with you, Amy.

Also, now I have Good Vibrations in my head (the Marky Mark one, not the Beach Boys one) thanks to this: [link]

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

,I feel we need to move to the late eighties/early nineties and address "My Perogative".

FUCK NO. That song is golden and necessary. Before R&B/hip hop became bullshit and was fun. It's a little bit marred by the way me and K mutter the line "All these strange relationships really get me down", considering she tried to talk me into being poly (i.e. she wanted to sleep with my boyfriend) and when I shut her down she actually followed him out of town to sleep with him as soon as his car stopped in the next city of his cross-country tour. No, honey. You don't even get to sing the same line of the song as me. I'm setting clearer boundaries now.

I came into work but all I want to do is cry. I came off a shoulder pain med and now I'm sleeping in two hour increments since Sunday, and I'm not coping. But I have an unmissable meeting today (1/2 yr review, which will suck, so I have to make sure I don't cry) and another tomorrow.

Yay, Maria!

Oh yeah, I meant to speak to My Prerogative as well.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Congrats Maria!

I can't let the earworm discussion go without mentioning that my boss required all her employees to learn and sing a custom version of Jewel's "Intuition" at the retirement party Saturday as a tribute to the guest of honor, and my method of learning it (playing it on a loop with iTunes the afternoon before, which resulted in SIXTY FIVE replays before I left for the party) has resulted in me hearing it in my head for the last three days. If she weren't a well-loved cousin of mine I'd probably have already had an "I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!" moment over it.

Nope, no song ever.

If it had simply been an order rather than also guilting us into fulfilling a request by the retiree, whom I've worked with since 1987, my answer would have been "Oh HELL no!"

Always Anti-fascist!

I like "My Prerogative' too. I'm not sure why, really. But I do.

It's defiant, it's catchy with a good hook. I'm interested in seeing reasons why one shouldn't.

Still want to cry. Considering car.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Oh, ita ! I wish I could make you feel better.

Thanks, everyone! I'm almost on overload. And yes, Amy, I'm moving back to PA.

"My Prerogative" is awesome for all the reasons previously stated. I am also with Tep on "Escape." My earworm from hell? "Afternoon Delight" hands down.

Have you seen Kenny Rogers lately? He's had enough plastic surgery done to give Joan a run for her money.

Glad the procedure went well Kat.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

my boss required all her employees to learn and sing

Nope, no song ever.

I will NEVER miss that about my old job. We sang all the fucking time. Birthdays, work anniversaries (no, really), when the interns were done with their month we sang "Happy Trails" (no, really).

Never EVER will I miss it. I am amused that I missed my last-ever work birthday party because I got sick at work. I came in the day of the party, and I had a migraine so bad I threw up at work and went home, thereby missing my last opportunity to be sung to. Darn.
