When I got into work the gate hadn't been propped open, so I hopped out and began shove-skip-shoving it open. It's always been our policy to keep it open during outages for emergency vehicles and such. Turns out they changed that policy on me as the ED rushed out to stop me. Dude, I'm not parking on the street and hobbling all the way in from there.
Then he put his hands on my shoulders and said "I just want you to know that I fired DD".
Oh, okay (yesyesyes!). He had a board member with him when he did it. Apparently there was screaming. He perp walked her out to the street and when he came back he was shaking from the things she said to him. She also threatened to sue.
We're all gonna have to pick up a lot of slack, but from what we also suspect, we would have had to do that anyway. I just feel relieved. I do fear that new boss lady is still her buddy and that I'll have to be cautious about what I say.
