One of my friends who teaches at a DC public school says that, unless the shutdown ends before next week, he's not going to be getting paid, since the district is running out of money.

Jesse, don't go for my hour and a half from Tuesday. Entire morning shot by a 9:30 appointment, but on the up side, PROGRESS.
Progress is good! An hour and a half is ridiculous. On the upside for the people who came after me, my half-hour appointment was done in 10 minutes, so they got to make up some time.
