Punishingly Intricate

Cash, good to know about your colonoscopy and I'll keep your mom and family in my thoughts, too. fucking cancer.

Consuela, DOGS! sheesh! Makes me less irritated about my pup being bored and barky tonight anyway. She doesn't seem to be an eat random stuff kind of dog. yet anyway.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I think AHS talk went in Minearverse.

Did you remember any of the actual procedure Cash? I was totally roofied from turning onto my side on the gurney, to past the point where I put my clothes back on. I wanted to ask questions and see pictures -- for all I know, I did, but I sure didn't remember.

Here's hoping for better news for your Mom. ::crosses fingers::

Versed--or some form of Benzodiazapine, I believe. Which means the last thing I remember is telling the nurse I could taste it from the IV and then waking up in recovery. I know they took photos. I bet my GP could call them up and show them to me but I'm not that curious.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Definitely thinking positive, Cash.

This dog is so lucky his owners are wealthy enough to keep saving his life: this is the third time he's had to have surgery after eating something stupid.

My parents' dog used to eat rocks. A lot of rocks. Which totally show up on xrays. Very disconcerting.

So sorry, Burrell and Cash. Though yay yours was good at least, Cash!

I just booked Christmas tickets. Ended up being about $500 and 27,000 miles, but I started looking and thought it would be more like $1000 so I'm less grumpy.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I'm so sorry, Burrell and Cash and Kate. Things are hard.

I have been completed preoccupied and swamped with work. I am entirely overwhelmed. Often, I think of myself as not really the overwhelmed type, but I continually finding myself feeling this way. So maybe it's me?

Anyhow, the balls I'm currently juggling are: teaching, grading, mentoring some teachers being evaluated with the new system, parenting (with attendant OT/PT/Soccer x2/Girl Scouts/Boy Scouts that go with it), visiting family and required "fun'" at amusement parks, writing an accreditation document, creating PD to go along with that accreditation process, implementing a new curriculum per the specs of the CSU system, planning a parent workshop at work, leading a girl scout troop, overseeing the school's AP and GATE program, volunteeringish at NICU and swimming every day. It's too many balls and today I dropped the girl scout one. But I recovered by having the girls make up crib decorations fulfilling my volunteer stuff.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

OMG Kat, I'm feeling stressed just reading that list. No wonder you're overwhelmed. The average human would be whimpering in a corner.

I'm thinking good thoughts for your mother, Cash. I hope her cancer is highly treatable. And I'm so glad to hear that you got a clean bill of health.
