Jesse, I had a similar reaction. Or, to put it in board language, oh, so now the hedge fund billionaires want to be part of the solution?
I mean, it's nice and everything, and obviously philanthropy is my job and pays my salary, but: UGH, the WORLD.
Relatedly, some people want to protest our board meeting tomorrow, over a controversial board member. I can't help but believe there won't actually be many people who come, since it's such a hassle to get here. But fingers crossed.
Meeting with grandboss in 45 minutes. Gah am nervous! I have a pretty easy-going relationship with her but am feeling like I will be revealed as a fraud! Like you do. Also I'm a little anxious that I'll be somehow repremanded for going around my direct supervisor? This is not a reality based fear. I'm pretty sure.
You can do it, Lisa! It will be good!
I love that you call her (him?) "grandboss." Heh. And don't be nervous! Breathe.

Just had a meeting with my boss. It was our mid-year performance review even though we are just getting into the time for year end self-evals. Anyway, we are moving forward with making a case for me to move up a grade level. And I am being encouraged to go ahead and tweak my current year goals so that they support the grade change.
Yay!
Oh, and still no clue what happened to my co-worker.
272? Not in one day, surely?!
No, over a period of several months. I got three job offers out of all that.
