I'm sorry for damaging your love for "Escape", Teppy.
Oh, my love for that song is unbreakable.
"I've got a brand new pair of roller skates, you've got a brand new key."
I had that song stuck in my head yesterday, for no reason at all. I sure hadn't heard it anywhere.
I had "Moves Like Jagger" stuck in my head at night two weeks ago for 6 HOURS as I battled insomnia.
PURE HELL.
I counter it with my sense of utter betrayal when I figured out the meaning behind "I've got a brand new pair of roller skates, you've got a brand new key."
One of the most ludicrous things I ever heard was a parody of that song called -- actually, here it is: [link]
Which survey is the circadian rhythms one, Kat? I am curious.
I hate both "Escape" and "Freebird" but love Neil Diamond's music in a completely non-ironic way.
My husband hates The Eagles. He even hates "Hotel California." I don't understand why anyone from California and of a certain age would hate that song. It's like the one area where our age difference makes itself apparent. The other is my inability to recognize Dinosaur Jr songs when they come on the radio.
"Billy Don't Be a Hero" is on the Top 40 in hell.
Along with "Muskrat Love."
Burrell, are you married to the Dude? Does that rug really pull the room together?
Neil Diamond is awesome, btw. Neil Diamond, Leonard Cohen, and Bob Dylan are a triumvirate of awesomeness.
I need someone to explicate MacArthur Park.
I had George M.Cohan's Yankee Doodle Dandy stuck in my head for 2 years. It was awful.
Burrell, are you married to the Dude? Does that rug really pull the room together?
Ha! I hadn't quite put it all together but yes, I am married to the Dude. Except my Dude pulled the rugs out of all the rooms because they made his allergies worse.
Aw, I find that very Dude-like, counter-intuitive as it seems.
I don't think I would know the lyrics to any song if I didn't have sheet music and/or liner notes to tell me. I'm not following at least half this conversation.
I've been to paradise, but I've never been to me
Muskrat love
The Night Chicago Died
The Night the Lights Went out in Georgia
This is just a short list of some of the songs that should never have been written, let alone recorded.
