Angel: You know, I killed my actual dad. It was one of the first things I did when I became a vampire. Wesley: I hardly see how that's the same situation. Angel: Yeah. I didn't really think that one through.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

A rolling walker - one with wheels - might even be better, because it moves more smoothly.

A rolling walker with a seat is FANTASTIC for many things. It comes in hand when you're at the point of getting better that you can do stuff but you'll tire quickly and could need a seat at any time.

Well, I didn't see any art that I needed, but I got three bottles of wine and rather a lot of chocolate (Lee {and possibly interested others, but Lee is who came to mind} I have a box of truffles formulated to be paired with whiskey and cheese, we should probably evaluate how good a job they did at some point). And bacon flavored marshmallows because, really, how could I pass that up? Especially after they remembered me at the booth (hot pink jacket probably helped with that, but still). And soap, which I bought before I'd even gotten far into the wine tasting because I have been wanting autumnally scented soaps (currently washing myself with mint which is excellent for summer, but looking forward to switching over to pumpkin soon! And then hot buttered rum for winter should be awesome).

8 1-oz pours even with a heavy hand ought to be about two glasses of wine. I am a cheap date, my friends. Lit up.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Quick healing, Juliebird!

Sounds like an excellent event, -t.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

My doctor's instructions are back down in the car. I don't think I want to make a third trip today. Seriously, my top step is about 10 inches from the stoop. And to think that way back when I wanted to get a ground floor apartment so my visiting mum could have easier access. Why do today what you can pay dearly for tomorrow?

Oh, so, because my docs instructions are in the car and I won't be bothered about it until maaaaaybe tomorrow, any quick tips for the first 24 hours beyond RICE? I also just read that I should wait that long to take any NSAIDS so that my body's* natural processes can do their thing with the inflammation.

I initially misspelled that "bodies", and man I wish I had plural of that right now!

Guess I can start catching up on The Dresden Files. I'ma poke y'all later if I need viewing recc's, maybe a tv show I could mainline.

I hope your ankle heals quickly, Juliebird. I've found when I sprain mine I get really good at pivoting on my good leg. Use the crutches to get to the kitchen and set the crutches against the counter. Take food out of the microwave and pivot to place it on a surface en route to your chair. Use the crutches to get between the surface and the chair and set them against something. Grab the plate of food from the first surface and pivot on your good leg to move dinner to the next surface. In a smallish place like mine, this puts the fod on the table next to the comfy chair. When I was on crutches for over a month I got really good at this procedure.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I've gotten some stuff done today: did some reading and responding for an online course I'm taking, answered numerous student emails (many from the same student, who emails me several times a day, and his questions never contain enough information to allow me to actually answer them), and worked on some job applications.

All that and a souvenir wine glass! To be honest, I love my souvenir wine glasses, I have been known to go to stuff just for those.

Although I seem to have misplaced a bag with a bottle of wine and a box of chocolate, alas. How I did that walking home without stopping I don't know, but the bag, it is not here.

I never heard of not taking NSAIDS right away, Juliebird. Because the inflamation serves a purpose in healing, is that the idea? RICE is all I know.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

chickpeas, cauliflower, ricotta , sunflower seed, lemon juice, honey, garlic, onion, parsley, white pepper, salt, maybe a little mozzerella. Maybe a few shells to absorb liquid though there are enough carbs in the chickpeas. Sound good? Tomatoes and other forms of pepper or chiles not an option due to allergies on part of one person eating.

-t, yeah, that's what I read in one article, but closed the tab and can't find it again. Not sure how to go about researching that, as I'm getting homeopathic results instead (like I was researching how to avoid taking NSAIDS period).

IDK, I can kinda see that, but the swelling is rough on the soft tissues and if you are elevating and immobilizing I think you are doing what the inflammation might accomplish anyway?

Wine and chocolates were at the booth where I bought them, and they remembered me and had held on to the bag, hooray! Also took the opportunity to get a plate of ribs, yum.

That sounds delish, Typo.
