Oh, as usual, dear. Old college roommate shared the Obamacare scare story about the $4000 fine, so I countered with a fact-check article, saying "then you will be relieved to know this is inaccurate, here is more information." She came back with " I know it is NOT. work with these issues every day. Same thing will happen to us. Have some empathy."
I could not resist responding with, "I have lots of empathy for people who are worried by rumors designed to spread fear and hate. That is why accurate information is so important."
That may have been a little heavy-handed. Oops.
Aaaaaaand now she is blaming current Pres. for No Child Left Behind.
Ceiling fans are wonderful. Mine are on pretty much all the time, I forget that they are optional sometimes.
Things currently on my own wishlist: frittata pans and mini springform pans. Both conveniently on this page [link]
WS, do you read Slacktivist? That's something he talks a lot about -- the incredible difference in mindset between someone who, on discovering that a terrible rumor is demonstrably untrue, is genuinely relieved that the world isn't as bad as they thought it was, and someone who discovers the same thing and doubles down because something in them actually wants that catastrophe, that enemy, that object of righteous fury and hate.
Kick ASS. It is barely noon and I have two loads of laundry in, and a crapload of vegetables roasting in the oven. Done and done!
JZ, I haven't read that, but I was sort of expecting something like this. I am suppressing the urge to self-righteously preach on worrying over lies being a triumph for the devil. Best thing I can do is just let it go. Nothing I can say will change her mind.
I have a ton of work to do this weekend, so I opted for a change of scenery and headed to Starbucks. OMG, I like the weekday crowd better than the weekend crowd. I should have known better. But I was able to move to my favorite corner after only an hours worth of work. So here I am, headphones in, music blasting, churning away at work and dreading hitting the line again when I want a refill.
This is the most treasured thing in our house (we have two): [link]
It is almost noon, and I just woke up! Antihistimine gronk, I blame you. But I have coffee, and I'm sitting in a sunbeam, so I should be mobile in a while.
Then I have a kid's bday party to go to, which should be fun. It's sunny and cool here.
Huh, my former coworkers just posted a thing on our program's FB page, saying the same thing mentioned above (the page is accessible but won't be updated). Clearly an email must have gone out.
