The shutdown infuriates me, but even more it summons despair. So many thing about this country are going to shit, and it just gets worse every day. And even trying to figure out how to stop it or fix it is beyond me, which is how I imagine a lot of people feel about it. I used to be more conservative than I am now, that's for sure. The blatant lack of humanity on the part of the Republicans is just obscene.

I can't believe I almost didn't take them, but I am anticipating a pair of chairs pretty much like these will be the favorite thing in my new house. (They've been recovered and are a brighter yellow/green.)

I want a new shelving unit, new tv (flatscreen, ) new carpet, new coffeetable that I can't turn into a disaster, and a liquor/display cabinet for my nice glasses and mexican pottery. Dark cherry/rosewood (like the futon wood), not heavy/ bulky, lots of storage.
