Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The upside of lots of family weekend work is that I'm too tired to do anything fun/spendy. I'm getting a haircut tonight, doing a lot of cleaning of my grandmother's apartment on Sunday, and possibly nothing in between.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ooh, Art, Wine and Chocolate Fest tomorrow for me! I had forgotten.

Because books.

I'm flying to Paris late tonight to meet my lover. Wait, that's someone else's weekend.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I have to figure out when to go retrieve the dog from Milwaukee. Would be easier tomorrow because I wouldn't have to come right back (I have plans tonight in Chicago) but I'm kind of inclined to go now anyway.

hwæt

I've been too busy these past few weekends, so I'm looking forward to doing nothing at all.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

CSA pickup tomorrow, apple picking on Sunday. It's a produce-filled weekend.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

All I know is that I'm making pie. Maybe two, if the new pastry goes well, one for work. Next week I might even move on from apple! I've only ever made apple (and the odd pumpkin, but bleh) pie.

Wow. Right now, a gawker article about depression with no deniers in the comments: [link]

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Burrell, so glad to hear the good news about your sister. That's a hell of an emotional rollercoaster; take care of yourself, too, please.

Grades~ma for the kids. Math was extraordinarily difficult for me as a kid; I wish I had a math brain like Noah's!

Strix, FFS, your friend, really?! Go you for getting pissed off and active instead of curling up in a corner. Can you bottle that? I could use some.

~ma for everybody. Times is hard and made harder by our ridiculous Congress. I know so many people being hurt by this stupid shutdown; the callousness and pointlessness of it all makes me so angry.

Oh yeah, I'm going to make a pumpkin bread, and cook lots of other vegetables as well. What do we think about roasting and then freezing root veg? I could re-heat in a hot oven and they would come out OK, right?
