Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I fear someone's about to unleash self-righteous right-wing rage on my FB, and I wish I could unfriend her, but that would make other things difficult. She's really the only person I've friended who's likely to spread stress and vitriol on my FB, so I guess I'm lucky I have only one troll.

And I've just told a guy I don't want to talk to him anymore, so that's a pleasant conversation.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I was in the world's crabbiest mood today at lunch. Which was also the staff meeting. We'd just spent two hours with the ENTIRE STAFF listening to the how-to on the new copy machine. REALLY?! Then I confirmed that staff meeting was at noon, then spent a half hour waiting for the rest of the staff to show up when I could have gone and gotten lunch. ED bopped down and was all "Oh! Everyone's here except--" and he didn't finish that sentence, because the rest of it was "me". Then he spent a portion of the meeting texting with the new IT guys to determine that the ENTIRE STAFF didn't have to then spend the rest of the day hanging around the new IT guys as they individually installed our new computers.

Thank you, ED, for trying to fuck away the rest of our productive Tuesday hours.

I declared it all a wash and took the hort department shopping and bought pretty pretty flowers (okay, some fall ornamental grasses and variegated Spurge for winter plantings). Seriously. We were told the copier BS would take an hour, it took two. In the end we had about two hours of the work day to do actual work. Hence: shopping.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I keep looking at my shoes and wondering when I'll get to wear most of them again, other than these couple I'm stretching out of shape. It's just...they're so HEAVY.

The status is NOT quo.

I want to buy a race medal holder, but I'm having a hard time choosing. Help me decide—which one do you like the best?

I needed a laugh, Mazda provided it for me (Maria can slap me upside the head):

Our records show that your Mazda has about 4,317 miles and may be ready for the following service: 5,000 Mile Service Maintenance

I just broke 1100 today! After just under 19 weeks. I'll break 5K by the end of 2014. Maybe.

This is pretty "my diamond shoes are pinching," but thanks to the government shut down, I may be out a chunk of money since I can't visit the Hawaii Volcanoes National Parks as planned, and we can't go to Haleakala National Park and hike the crater, either.

Go offroad. Can you visit the observatories? They may be under indirect and thus open, and IIRC from my dad, you can see some active lava flows on the way (being a guy, he peed on them.) Plus, just invoke your rover and hubble board invisibles...

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I just broke 1100 today!

I am at about 1650, after just over 20 weeks.
