Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So I underestimated how many beets I actually had

0, the number of times I've made that mistake.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I meant overestimated! It means I have soup that isn't that beet-y.

Ooh, that Jamaican woman on the Voice is great. (Side note: Reality TV really is the vanguard of diversity on TV. No one would cast her to play a Jamaican on a scripted show. Ditto this woman from Supermarket Superstar.)

Apparently Jamaica is terribly excited and also are simultaneously wondering why a woman who's so famous to them is climbing up from the bottom, but such is the paradox of elsewhere.

You don't need to be at the bottom to be on the show, just unsigned. A while ago, there was a woman whose video was inescapable (I thought) on VH1 a year earlier, but got dropped by her label. She didn't make it far on the show, either.

Because books.

And E.G. Dailey! She's been in the business for years, although the last time she sang was probably in the '80s.

Yeah, she's mostly been doing voiceover work. Though, of course, I always think of her in Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

She's starting on the bottom of the show. By getting on the show you're automatically not on the bottom of the industry, clearly. But everyone starts from the same bottom once they're there, never mind that back home she's a household name and used to heavy radio play.

Yes, that is true.

Teppy, does YOUR HUSBAND have a niece (or other relative) in the 5th grade named Chloe? If so she is in Casper's class at school.

The status is NOT quo.

I am officially done engaging with the friend of a friend who ranted at me about Obamacare being an excuse to...I don't know, raise taxes and invade our homes? I think that was the gist. Stepping away from the craxy.
