Pretty much any part of your body that becomes unattached gets nasty immediately. I think the basic sacred/profane division has to do with that.

I did not know that hair was supposed to be nasty when it was detached. Don't you guys give to Locks of Love and people highly appreciate that stuff? Is the idea gross to you as former owner of the locks?
People also nibble skin and nails so much that I'd never thought of it nasty in scenarios where there was no pain and the part wasn't complex--no muscle/bone/significant nerve system.
I haven't been more grateful for a Friday in a long time. After explaining to my doctor's appointment that yesterday was the last time I could come in before the script was due to run out during the time they were open to pick one up, so now they've told me it will be in today. JESUS. How is ten day's notice not notice enough?
So now I need to work out official time off without a boss next week so I can pick that shit up and as much as I want time off next week it's pretty much the worst time ever.
Being the only one that gives a fuck in this relationship is exhausting.

When you pull hair out of a drain, it's dirty. If you pulled thread out of that drain, would it be any less nasty with the same gunk on it?
