Zoe: First rule of battle, little one. Don't ever let 'em know where you are. Mal: Whoo-hoo! I'm right here! I'm right here! You want some of me? Yeah, you do! Come on! Come on! Aaah! Whoo-hoo! Zoe: Of course, there are other schools of thought...

Art Crawl!!!

Cash - so sorry for the news about your mother. I hope that it turns out to be less bad than the first site of it.

ita - wow. I am so glad that your friend's instincts or training kicked in. Wow.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Artemisia Gentileschi

See, I want to learn about shit like that in the free online courses I barely have time to pay attention to. I'm still irritated by how random and eventually useless the first one was, from the get go. On the flip side, the Online Gaming course is fascinating! I know zero about the game part, but the core of the course is adapting LotR into PJ's movies and into the game, so it's canon I'm very familiar with, extending into a medium I know jackshit about. Great combination, and I'm actually up to date on the course material and have gotten full points on the quizzes (one was late, though...took time to get into gear.). It's just the right level of detail to have running while I draw. I even visited the forums...

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Castle upkeep -- it isn't coincidence that the quote about affording a yacht is "if you have ask, you can't afford one."

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I really like how this photo from the weekend turned out.

Great shot, Gud! Boy in full flight.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

This is why so many castles now have tours/tea/guest rooms, etc. And are, per my coworker who went on a "Downton" tour, often freezing cold and somewhat dilapidated inside.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Doing a shotgun run here.

Cash, best wishes. I hope the tumor is easily treatable.

ita, your people in Kenya are amazing. I kind of want her around me at all times.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

This is why so many castles now have tours/tea/guest rooms, etc.

And/or have been handed over to the National Trust.

brillig

There's a BBC series called Country House Revealed, where they go through some country houses that aren't open to the public. There's one that's suffering subsidence from wartime coal mining in the front lawn and another one where the owner is trying to restore it. It shows a lot of the dilapidated rooms.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Overall, I'm willing to argue that a $2m apartment in Williamsburg is a better value than a $2m castle in the south of France. Not for square footage or bragging rights, but for an actual useful place to live.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You are clearly insane.
