Yay Ginger fund! I think/hope my mom figured out how to contribute. She wanted to, I know. She and several friends had been basically doing the same offline for Alicia, who had been their housekeeper for almost 2 decades. She only had health insurance in Mexico, and at her sickest, she couldn't work, but a bunch of her clients banded together and kept paying her as if she was and doing home visits, bringing food she could eat, arranging home services that the US and Mexican healthcare would not.
I told her she raised me right, to be worthy of being in a community like this one.

I worked until 9:30 tonight. Tomorrow we have to be at the karate tournament at 7am (CJ helps with taking tickets and judging in the morning and I am babysitting the dojo kids). I should go to bed, but I can't turn off the A's game. Well, tech wise, I could watch the game from bed, but I'm too hyped up to crawl in bed.

I was up too late last night because I heard a dog barking in the front yard and looked out to see one of my neighbor's dogs. I woke her up and then went outside to find that Nugget, the incredible jumping dog, had jumped into my yard. She adopted Nugget after he had jumped in and out of her yard visiting her dogs. He can sail effortlessly over a four-foot fence, and to keep him in, she rigged an additional three feet of deer netting. Yesterday he somehow managed to foil that.
