Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Buzzfeed has a list of the lowest-paying jobs that require a bachelors degree. I'm earning comparable to the ones listed, and I have a doctorate.

Huh. I make in that range and I thought I was doing pretty well. It's very possible that my job doesn't actually require a degree, though.

Hard to say with kittens, Matt. Might hide and sleep all day, might find something that needs destroying and go to town. Good luck!

The snapdragon won't kill him, although he might kill the snapdragon. As Amy says, since he's scared, probably the worst he'll do is leave you a present somewhere.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

He'll probably be hiding most of the time. I bet he won't go wild. Just leave some water out.

Done, and the neighbor's can of tuna that lured him into the building in the first place. I've wadded up a dustcover in an empty box in the corner and put an old sheet down in a corner of the bathroom, so hopefully he will demonstrate any displeasure with the situation on those and not on my good furniture. (Very glad that hardwood floors were my one absolute necessity when scouting apartments...)

The status is NOT quo.

I make more but have 17 years experience and live in one of the most expensive cities in the country. It's so sad, though, because I went far enough in debt when I made less than all of those that most of my income still goes to that. Ah well.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The mantra here is "Yes, but the benefits are amazing!" Which, you know, they are, but it doesn't quite make up for the shitty salaries.

My unemployment benefits have been cut by 12% because of the sequester.
