So ita+amazon@gmail.com can be my Amazon email address (if Amazon accepts email addresses of that format, and if I shopped at Amazon...) but all the mail goes to ita@gmail.com, and I can tell where it's from (and who shared it to whom) by virtue of what it is. So if you give out am.y personally and a.my professionally, you can tell when someone's blurring the lines. Or, more complex, any facebook password resets that don't come to amy+facebook@gmail.com?
