That is a crossstitch
Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Or if you are writing a thank you note you could use embroidery or embroidered. I don't think it is needlepoint
You could just say "needlework." Covers it all!
Yeah, I'd just call it embroidery, Steph. A lovely hybrid, as Amy says.
Sara, bosses quitting is never good, but when it's just you and him...Yeah. Apparently the projects can't disappear, and the business users like me (one was my reference when I moved from contractor to permanent), but that leaves a lot of wiggle room for stress and disaster.
And I am so unwiggly...
And now, upon googling, is there a consensus about whether it's 2 words with a space (cross stitch) or one hyphenated word (cross-stitch)?
I like two words, no hyphen. Hmph. M-W.com likes the hyphen, though.
I'm sorry about the wiggliness, ita. I hope the ER helped, though.
There isn't even consensus on that in my own mind. Sometimes I go with crossstitch because three esses, who can pass that up? Needlework is a reasonable sidestep, for both the hybridness of the work and the potential differences in opinion over spelling.
It's a lovely piece, whatever the exact term for it.
Seriously, your boss quit his job, ita? The boss that just stole you from old job? I thought maybe you meant he quit for the day or quit being mad at you or something. Yowza, like you needed more excitement.
I am getting way more enjoyment than I should from posting old pictures on fb these last few weeks.
Wow. I had to check what website I was on for a minute. (Seriously, the "Dom Depot" joke gets SO OLD when every dominant thinks he's the first person to ever make that joke.) (But, uh, not you, Zen.)
I'm NOT the first person to make that joke? ::weeps::
I love the old picture posting of cutiehead baby msbelle! I need to scan some more old pics to post.
Every form of transportation in this metro area was fucked tonight. My team was having happy hour in my neighborhood (my co-worker's idea) and it took an hour to make the usual 20-25 minute drive EXCEPT it only took those of us who heard the report of 83, the highway you take to get to my neighborhood, being closed down and managed to take an alternate route. My boss did not hear the report on time and was stuck for 2 hours before giving up and managing to turn around and drive the other hour back to her place. I feel bad about it even if it wasn't my idea to come down here for drinks and even though it usually is a pretty quick drive. I need to figure out how to pay her back. (More drinks someplace convenient to work would be good but she's really not a drinker.) And then Bob's flight is about 4 hours late. sheesh.
