Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Not that kind of stuff, but it is weird looking around at my grandmother's stuff and trying to figure out what might be worth anything, and what's for a yard sale. Good thing some of us have some information, because she has some stupid looking wall clock that is apparently worth a couple hundred dollars.

Similarly odd: remembering the furniture I thought was so uncool and grandma-like, and realizing it was super sweet Danish Modern stuff I would love to have now (sadly, it was gotten rid of when she moved into a nursing home while I was in college)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

In a strange moment of intersectionality I realised that Jamaicans might fail the Voight-Kampff test. Unless we use the tortoise for soup--is that a replicant answer or a human answer?

(I doublechecked with the friend who was the best friend of the Mars friend before we even met, and she said "enh, she's wanted this for a while". So while I don't have any sentimental regrets or anything, just a theoretical idea that suicide is strange to play out on such a public stage, a friend since high school is nowt but encouraging her to go die far away. That's a weird sort of encouraging, you gotta say. But to Kim's credit, it's exactly what she wants. Some people might be sending mixed signals, she's just GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY I NEED MARS YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND.)

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I think we're getting a last blast of heat here, too. Fingers crossed it's the last time. I want FALL.

Whereas here, we're finally getting some real summer weather. I went to an outdoor musical last night (Legally Blonde, pretty fun, although the male lead's voice was a bit weak), and we usually have to dress in many layers and bring hats and blankets, but last night was beautifully warm, and I didn't even really need a sweater! So nice.
