The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

The pot of tea I had isn’t working. I drank it, but my apartment is still filthy, and I’m still not packed.

My apartment is pet sitter clean (less clean than relatives visiting, more clean than every day), and I am packed and almost ready to go, which is good, since I have to leave in less than an hour.

Less than a week to Scola! Wheeeee

That's a terrible pot of tea, Tom. Tell it you expect better.

-t, perhaps you and I are on some sort of sleep-sharing plan. Yesterday night I slept for 12 hours, didn't get up until 11:30AM. Still felt kinda crappy. Last night I decided to do a 5k this morning, set my alarm, was unsure whether I'd still be wanting to do it when that went off. Instead, I woke up at 6:30AM (45 minutes before the alarm!) and decided I was awake enough to get up and get going and make a real breakfast (poached egg with toast). This is very bizarre for me.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

For the first time in a while, I'm having a lazy Sunday. We need to get groceries, but other than that, nothing on my agenda.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Save the badger badger badger...

Jonti Picking's badgers are set to the music of Brian May and Brian Blessed in protest over a government-sponsored badger cull in Britain. The reason for the cull is to protect cows from bovine tuberculosis. Team Badger advocates vaccinating cows instead. The song has become a bona fide hit.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's pretty awesome, meara! I didn't do anything as impressive with my awaked-ness yesterday, so you merit the sleep if we have to share.

Well, the problem is its now 803AM, and the race does not start until 930. But I don't want to move my car for fear of not being able to find another spot. Good thing I have a kindle.

That is a long time to wait. Hooray kindle!

I hope Lee is on her way. Whee!

OK, I have breakfasted and coffee'd and it is not scorching hot yet, I'd better get some work done while I can.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I've walked my 2 miles, fed and watered the cats, eaten breakfast, and gotten the fluffy kitten comfortable batting at my finger through the deck railing with his paws and being petted a bit as long as he doesn't see my hand coming toward his head. Incidentally got close enough to determine the kitten is in fact a he, and because he was trailing half the refuse from the alley in his fur this morning I have named him Dustbunny.

Because books.

I think we're getting a last blast of heat here, too. Fingers crossed it's the last time. I want FALL.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Speaking of tea, I just finished my Teavana Strawberry Champagne Rose. Anyone have any recommendations for a not-black Adagio tea that makes a good iced tea? Fruity and flowery much appreciated.

The ones labelled "patio dress" look like house dresses to me

Except they are supposed to be synonyms, and everything on that page is supposed to be a patio dress, since the page is titled patio dress.

Overnight work went as well as can be expected, which--I was awake, but not stressed. And the last guy did his bit a lot sooner than scheduled, so yay. I got a couple hours sleep at one shot.
