For the first time today I managed to pet both the half-Siamese alley cat (I have dubbed him Jackson because he's very pretty, standoffish, and constantly intimidated by all the other cats) and the fluffy little gray kitten of indeterminate gender.
Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I'll suggest the Everybody Poops book to CJ.
It is too early in the morning for drama from the search and rescue team. I know I shared the drama over the promotions last month. Well, the parents of the guy who felt he didn't get the promotion he was due (even though he DID get a promotion) are the head of the Parent Support Unit. A while back another mom, L, and I were named Co-Chairmen (women?) in waiting for next year when their son graduates. Well, guess who is stepping down on Tuesday and expecting L and I to step up? WIthout even talking to us about it. It was just in the agenda, which I often don't read until the day of the meeting.
L and I knew this would be a possibility after the promotion drama, but we had hoped that the parents would be a bit more adult about the whole situation.
Matt, he looks a lot like our Victor (RIP).
Suzi, so often parents are the worst.
I have had a ton of time off in the past 10 days (last friday was Admittance Day, then labor day and today is Rosh Hashannah) but I do wish we had cooler weather. Days off when it's a 100 degrees out blow. But it is compelling me to grade, which is good.
I want a Siamese kitty.
That kitty is SO BEAUTIFUL!!! I can't believe he is a stray!
When we were kids, my mom rescued a gorgeous show Siamese who got dumped at my school after she had something crinkle her tail and wreck her "career"
Yeah, he puts the rest of the alley cats to shame in terms of appearance, and also seems much more devoted to cleaning himself. Sadly, his twin has gone missing (along with an all-black kitten from the same litter, plus the one I know has died).
Timelies all!
Aw, kitty...
You guys, I cannot recommend living in a community highly enough. I just called the florist to order flowers for my grandmother's funeral, and she asked what I had in mind, and I just said to coordinate with whatever my mother ordered already, because I knew we were calling the same place.
