Worst Fucking Day this week.
1. I had to run the faculty meeting - I AM NOT AN ADMIN. Why is this my responsibility?
2. I spent my free period not grading as I need to do because I need to give grades this week but planning the faculty meeting where....
3. I had to write up what I need from everyone so we can be accredited and I promised the first draft to be finished in a month.
4. At the faculty meeting, I was told one of my former students, R had died. She and her boyfriend were living together two years ago. They had had a baby the year before. They were both working towards graduation but her BF, who ended up passing my class, had a hard time completing credits because he was also working full time to support them. So he is technically still attending/a student.
5. R died when she and her BF went to her parents house to drop off groceries per her mom's request. R got out of the car while the BF drove the fussy preschooler around the block in hopes she might nap. When he pulled back up in front of the house, R was bleeding out in the front yard, because R's brother had stabbed her to death.
6. When I got home I was told Noah was in trouble at school for hitting a kid 'in his privates." Of course it's the only kid in his class whose mom has ever been nice to me. Also, WTF?
