I am fairly certain it is not a lack of production of new hairs. New eyelashes seem to come in at the usual rate. It is more that whatever it is that causes the eyelashes to stay in place through their usual life cycle isn't doing its job so my eyelid feels itchy and irritated until I pull on the lashes, then a bunch of them come out very easily. This is not me pulling hard. You know how if you get something in your eye, you are supposed to grasp your eyelashes to lift the eyelid? I can't do that. Instead of lifting the eyelid, the lashes just come out.

OK, I have to say this to someone, and you guys win: At church with my mother yesterday, this man got up to ask for prayers, and just said his first name, like you do. My mother leaned over and told me his last name, because I totally knew him when I was a kid. He's probably 5-6 years older than me, and I totally had the hots for him when I was like 12 and thought he was basically a grownup. So sitting there, I thought, "Oh, too bad -- he doesn't have it anymore." But then we were talking after church, and he TOTALLY still has it! I'm not sure what "it" is, and he lives in New York, but whatever. Attractive man.

Andi, you have told your doctor about the hair and eyelash loss, right? My pet theory is that whenever the body is stressed and needs to conserve resources, hair production stops because it's not essential.
