Hmm. It's sounds like the finest party I can imagine getting paid to go to.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

The air conditioning situation at school was slightly more bearable today, but only slightly. First classroom, for some reason, had both the air conditioner and the heater on. It was hotter than I'd like, but I could deal with it. Second room, air conditioner putting out vaguely sort of cool-ish air, and most of the windows open. Again, hotter than I'd like, but OK. Last classroom, unbearably hot. Like, the sort of hot where you walk in (from the air conditioned hallway) and feel like you're walking into a sauna. There are a few windows, and those were open, but it didn't help much. I ended class early because I was feeling really sick and the students were barely able to keep their heads up, much less learn anything. (Also, the chalkboard in that room is full of scratches, so they probably couldn't even read much of what I was writing.) I called the Classroom Hotline about that room, and they said they'd look into it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My ex's wife had their baby as well. His post on FB said some shit like "I went to bed last night a brother, son, etc., and woke up this morning a father." Did he sleep through the birth??????

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

did you see this video of a 2 year old who was scared by a dinosaur exhibit. It is really cute, but I must admit I would be close to behaving this way as an adult.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Not as jet-lagged as I thought I'd be. Nova is being velcro kitty.

BTW, current theory is that the particularly virulent form of the plague that emerged in the 14th century had its origin in marmots in the general area of Kyrgyzstan.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Without much information, I might start with asking for a raise of 5-10% and see what happens.

Good call, Le Nub! I got 8%, retroactive to Aug 1.

Oh, man. Is it wrong that I want to take a picture of a marmot and simply caption it with "SOON"?
