It's not like she blew me off. She just left with another guy, that's all.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Steph, I think you were working at the WKRP of medical publishing.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I also learned that male cats can pee directly backwards

That's because their penises point backward. Marking territory is more important than ease of mating, apparently.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Marking territory is more important than ease of mating, apparently.

Judging by behavior rather than, say, species survival, that appears to be the case.

There's a big cat sanctuary near here that takes in animals that aren't suitable for zoos, generally from idiots who thought it would be totes awesome to get a tiger cub as a pet. Their tour guides have all learned to say, very quickly, "when he backs up to the cage like that he's not asking for butt scritches. Also, he can pee 10 feet."

Monday is a normal working day for me. Which should mean a quiet day, as most of the big updates are done and there are no--Praise God!--big storms affecting our customer base.

(off to the National Weather Service hurricane page to check updates)

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

In my line of work I expect to work any holiday that falls on my regularly scheduled days to work. Sometimes due to people going to visit their families, we do not need as many staff on duty, and I luck out. Then again, there are only three holidays that get holiday pay (though we do get float days in addition to pto).

I haven't worked for a company that gave official holidays off in more than ten years.
