"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Julie,

I want to see a supercut of that video with an Adam Sandler movie.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Heh. My comment when watching was "I hope the female of the species doesn't eat him after mating" and then, to my surprise, it's even worse. She doesn't just say "I've got a headache" if she's not interested. He doesn't just have to deflate and do the walk of shame, he has to run for his life.

Poor little cutie.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

you need to talk to someone about that. I would be close to passing out. I think OSHA actually has a part on their Web site about this.

It's like that in the majority of classrooms here (except in the business school building, which is all new and fancy), and has been for as long as I've worked here. Everyone's complaining about it.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I actually saw pictures of the peacock jillifont, and didn't scream or recoil from the laptop. It does help that there are two larger eyes in the center, and it doesn't move like a usual jillifont.

Speaking of jillifonts: Vlad, darling mighty hunter kitty, I know you're bored. STOP BRINGING SPIDERS UPSTAIRS FROM THE BASEMENT.

Its fuzzy palps are so cuuuute. And it's got a better turning radius than a Jeep Wrangler. It's a wee politically incorrect Indian Chief doing semaphore. And I love that one of its nicknames is Kitten With Too Many Legs.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Back from vacation. Got to see a bunch of stuff I'd never seen before. Severe family overload, though. Sleepy.

I'm definitely wearing a dress to work tomorrow. I've worn pants the past two days, because I think they look more professional and they hide my brace, but I think I'm willing to deal with a day full of "What did you do to your ankle?" if it gets me a little bit cooler.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

In work drama, I'm once again in the middle of two warring coworkers, who are both above me in the heirarchy. One is the DD that everyone hates, and the other is the ED that everyone mostly loves. Except now that he's finally cottoned on to DD's bad behaviour, is now dissing all of her ideas. And I'm on her side of the current issue. She wants a car show on the lawn, which would be awesome and not cost us a dime. I objected at first, but the more I thought about it, I drive the company pickup on the lawn all the time in the fall to pick up leaves, and it would be hypocritical to deny ten cars access when I'll be tripping all over the place ten times a day. I got the approval from the new DH, the facilities manager is on board. They're putting it to the B&G committee tonight, but the ED is still spitting fire at the idea, simply because it's hers. FREE! No damage! Income! Willing colleagues except for you! And the ED is sending messages about his Reasons to the Children's Ed Director, which is so inappropriate and irrelevant. It's not her call. We'll see what happens come tomorrow.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I fell so hard asleep that when I woke at 5:46 on the clock, I wondered why the sun was so high up until I realized that it was still Today.

Strangely, my body still seems to be at a "food isn't un-attractive" appetite setting, rather than famished.

The paper they gave me to take home says they found two polyps which the nurse emphasized look totally normal and I shouldn't stress about.
