Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Today it was my office cafeteria, but I've heard Tank Noodles in Uptown is good. Or Pho 777. Argyle probably is the place to go.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh no, Scrappy. I'm sorry.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I'm kinda shell-shocked.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, Scrappy, that's awful. How long have you had him?

I'm assuming selective memory is a subconscious thing, because I'm not sure why I have to remind some people of the exact same thing over and over again, sometimes multiple times a day. It's an important thing--pretty fucking critical to work, but it keeps being forgotten.

Unless that fact goes in a very specific part of the brain, and that part is broken, so...oops, it fell out again.

Two co-workers started a conversation about my drawing while I was on the phone (including "I'm wondering if she can draw something for me...") and made me miss a huge bit of the conversation. Yet I didn't hear the key bit of what they were saying about me either.

I think I'm going to take an hour's lunch. But I have to work out where to spend it. Handicapped parking spots are so obvious.

Separately, I want this so bad, if I could figure out how sheets would actually work: [link]

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

That looks awesome, but probably require no sheets or super loose sheets, neither of which are very appealing.

Or stretchy sheets? In the video, they demo sheets working, but I didn't listen to the audio. Maybe jersey would have enough give.

Who are you cuddling, Jesse?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

That sounds a little like this (not really serious) idea.

Scrappy, I'm so sorry.
