What you did to me was unbelievable, Connor. But then I got stuck in a hell dimension by my girlfriend one time for a hundred years, so three months under the ocean actually gave me perspective. Kind of a M.C. Escher perspective, but I did get time to think.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Truck is leaving. Jeez.

As soon as the truck left, Rosie came to sit on my lap and purr for a bit while i sat in the dark listening to the insects chirp outside. My heart rate is back to normal. I may be able to sleep soon after all.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I'm glad it turned out to be nothing except scary, aurelia.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Mr. Flappy is back. I thought he'd gone out last night; I opened the door and quivered flat on my back on the couch, watching him flutter madly in circles around the living room, and then...I didn't see him for several hours.

He's a literary bat, at least; he was hiding behind the dictionary and started flapping about again this morning.

I tried to free you, Mr. Flappy. I'll be calling Animal Control. I hope they catch and release you.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

He may be the same bat getting in through the same hole. It's the season that young, inexperienced bats are starting to stake out roosts, which leads to unexpected encounters on both sides.

So glad aurelia's nighttime excursion was concluded safely.

Me, I'm starting my pre-colonoscopy fast day. Lemon popsicles are OK, it turns out -- not one of the bad dyes (grape would be right out). As it turns out, something I ate at a barbecue (salmon burger) did not agree with me, at any rate... I'm already fairly empty. SIGH

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Good luck, Theo. Try not to do too much while your body doesn't have a lot of fuel.

Go outside, Mr. Flappy! Indoors is no place for a bat.

I could definitely use another couple of hours of sleep. Oh well.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I can go look for myself, but I know that some people have a file of such things and might be able to quickly point me to a link:

If you had to choose 1 relatively easy-to-read article to support "weight/obesity isn't the critical factor in health outcomes*" which one would it be? I am going to make a post for one of my classes, and that seems like a soapbox worth hauling out, especially as these are people who are or will be in the health professions.

* This as distinct from "BMI is a bullshit metric" which is one of my favorites, but not applicable in this particular case

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Mornings go much slower when I'm not allowed to watch Breaking Bad because my sister is saving herself for marathoning the whole season. I need something to lift me up before I fall into work. Okay, uplifting is the wrong imagery. Distract.

(Junior fucking high!!)

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Good luck, mac!

I'm at home this morning, trying to get a vet appointment for TNG (she's ok but had some blood in her poop on Saturday so I figured I should bring her in).

Had a good weekend: saw Beth & her DH & Javachik, and had a good bike ride yesterday, then took my dad to a jazz show and wine-tasting and out to dinner. And I watched a ton of vids from the Vividcon dvd set.

And I should probably be sending some job-related emails about now. Or walking the dog...
