Well, if we followed the recipe...should be cake. A demon-violence-free-zone cake.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

And also, Lee, you are to be congratulated on your savvy shopping! Any pictures to share?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Flappy is an excellent name for a bat!

When I was 9 or so, I had an imaginary pet bat named Suspended Annamay. Because I thought that the phrase "suspended animation" shouldn't actually end, but just sort of taper off, and then I realized it was a perfect name for a bat sleeping upside down.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I don't think you actually can have a pet bat. I think when a bat finds you, you are the bat's pets.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I finished an article review and now I don't want to do another damn thing except run through a park barefoot.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

15 more minutes and I'm done with the three-day online conference. Thank gawd!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

When I was 9 or so, I had an imaginary pet bat named Suspended Annamay.

That's wonderful.

While weeding this morning, I discovered a large yellow-and-black jillifont in a odd zigzag web. I don't know what they're called, but I've seen them before. I'd like to know what they are so I can find out why their webs are weird. I didn't kill it; I accidentally destroyed its web, but it lived to weave another day.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Argiopes. Black and Yellow Garden Jillifont. My favorite Jillifont. I like to catch ants and throw them on the web. Because they're usually low to the ground.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Bwah! My sister totally egged Nurse WooWoo on. It was brilliant. I thought she (Nurse WW) would be on good behaviour, just to show me up, but she was GOLDEN. Quantum physics and changing paradigms and everything.

Now Sis is walking her to her car and telling her to stop being late (she called at 12:30 to say she'd be here at 12:50 and showed up after 1) because my head hurts (she's too nice to say this herself, you understand, and she'd feel awful if she knew I was telling you this, but COULD YOU PLEASE STICK TO YOUR COMMITMENTS??). (I can still hear them talking--the fuck?)

If she hadn't done anything else to help me out (she just finished putting together the Adirondack chair and cleaning the balcony), and even if this doesn't work, this is worth the plane ticket I'm reimbursing.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration
