If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I wish more stories were highlighting the fact that it was caused by drilling and most of the town has had to evacuate.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I just violated my own rule by chiding someone for running yet another graphic criticizing Obama for standing under an umbrella held by a Marine. When it's so very evident that it's another case of It's OK If You're A Republican when it's not hard to find pictures of previous Presidents doing the same thing.

A friend of mine says, 'You can hit harder if you tell the truth.' If you're going to criticize, at least criticize on factual grounds, not appearance.

What kind of drilling, brenda? Is that why that buoy line was there?

Also, Google's animation today is short and beautiful.

Juliebird -- they were doing something with an insufficiently documented (those pesky regulations!) salt dome, which turned out to be Very Unstable. So, basically, a very Big Cave collapsed underneath the swamp. Not only is it sucking down whole sections of land, it's belching up crude oil and explosive gases.

Jesus Christ. I thought it was an amazing natural phenomenon. Should've known better.

Which is not to say it's not an awesome (old sense) vid.

Also, I love my interns. I finally got them this week from out of the Ed departments clutches. They're so competent. I'm sad that they're really only here for another week or two. But, competent young ladies who can be trusted to do a task or five independently, and are willing to ask for help when stumped or confused. Half my problem with interns/volunteers is that it usally means I have to babysit them the entire time they're on site. To be able to say "do this" and then walk away is an amazing feeling, especially knowing that they're smart enough to figure out the various quirks they might run into.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I refused to friend a left wing critic of Obama because he pushes the "Benghazi Scandal". Plenty of real shit to criticize this administration for, don't need to jump on faux scandals, mostly created by Faux News.
