I have tried orajel with very minimal relief. It isn't really the teeth or gums that are in pain. It just feels like it is, which is whacky logic. K-Bug is coming over. Not sure what we are going to do but getting out will be good.

Suzi, that is awful When will you next see someone medical who can try and do something?

The on duty doc called in Vicodin, which nice, but I know it doesn't help. K-Bug and G picked me up and we are on the way the way to a street fair if the weather holds at least. G is an ex boyfriend who is now a ? friend. Anyone keeping a score card, this is the son of a long time family friend. They broke up a couple of years ago but got back in touch recently. So...yeah. Will be an interesting evening.

Thanks again. The weather went nuts and the street fair is shut down. Off to the movies.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Ayiyi, Suzi! Yeah, I'm not surprised that the Orajel doesn't help, because it's actually a nerve inside the face that's freaking out like a mammal, not something physically present in the mouth.

I wish I remember what my Mom got prescribed for her TN, which was, IIRC a very small dose of an anti-seizure med. It made her feel fuzzy, but when she was having an attack, it worked quickly and effectively.

My best suggestion is to get a consult with a doctor who routinely treats TN as they'll be up on the latest & most effective.

Thanks Theo. Lyrica is an anti convulsant and supposedly once I've been taking it for a week I'll have better pain management. I just want it NOW!!! Silly me.

How to Train Your Dragon, here we come.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I did a little googling, Suzi. There's an organization, which would normally be a good source of information except that the website [link] is a complete mess. Googling is going to be problematic, because this is one of those conditions that brings out the crazy people.

Here are two tip sheets of things that have helped: [link] [link]

It sounds like many people have to try more than one drug before they find one that works.

Anecdotally, marijuana has helped some people.

Peach-blueberry pie is in the oven, go me.

So the dogsitter has a degree in environmental policy and has no full-time work. Adorable recent college grad just trying to make ends meet. So I told him to send me his resume.

Also, he got my dad's skittish dog to accept him in just a few minutes, so that's good.
