I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Thanks, -t. Me, too.

but somehow always rises to show hipbones when he stretches

That's probably because the trousers are tantalizingly loose and low, and the idea that they may slip off at any moment is terribly distracting to the larger.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Okay, now serious post--congratulations for your mother, meara! Clean bill from here on in, I hope.

I'll hope for you for the decannulation, Kat--is that the stomach tube? Man, you learn so much here. Remember when she was barely scooting on her but and crying silently was her main method of communication? Remember when she'd never had ice cream? It's getting so much better, but I wish you a rapid end to all these surgeries.

Will go look at IEEE jobs to see if they need me. I feel applying at job sites like monster or company sites is pretty fruitless. I wonder if those people are recruiting too, and who usually gets the job? I've gotten all my interviews, never mind jobs, from recruiters.

But that doesn't stop me trying. Can't afford to. Gonna hit some more Linkedin opportunities before eating breakfast--it's my routine. Complain, tea, read some fic, some b.org, some IO9, check email starting with recruiting address, and then alternate fic and job apps until I feel sated, and then by noon it's time for breakfast.

Suzi, are you on generic Vicodin? Colin mentioned that he finds a huge difference between that and brand name for some reason, but with livers, who knows.

I see the motivation, but not the practicality.

Wives, girlfriends of men, please test if this works-how much stretching do they have to do to get a standard t-shirt over the hipbone?

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Fuck fuck fuck. Another school shooting, this one in my area, extras needed at work on phones and I'm on an airplane. (Doors not shut yet, still ok to be using phone)

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Good on meara's mom news.

All good thoughts for Grace's surgery.

Successful pain treatment for Suzi.

We've had such a run of warm sunny days, I almost forgot it's PNW. Today reminds me. Switching to tea after I finish my coffee, digging out my hoodie and piling up on the sofa under the throw to do some editing. If the sound of the rain on the windows and roof don't put me to sleep.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

NBC says the situation is stabilized and the shooting suspect dead, erin. The high school is nearish my sister, though not my niece's school. Ugh.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Wives, girlfriends of men, please test if this works-how much stretching do they have to do to get a standard t-shirt over the hipbone?

Arms up, arch back, t-shirt goes up over the bellybutton. As I recall.

Another school shooting, this one in my area

Oh, god. Is this ever going to stop?

brillig

My smallish city has a serial arsonist on the loose, targeting abandoned buildings. There are suspicions he works/worked with developers who has found a way to combine his loves of fire and clearing land that could be used for convenience stores.

Anyway, for the second time he's hit a house three blocks from me, next to the freeway. I drove past this morning and there were all sorts of police vehicles. I came back, and there were four news trucks and a backhoe. I thought they'd found a body or something. But random arson is much more sexy, news wise.

Yikes, Connie, fire that close to you is scary.

Sister confirms her family are all fine.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, god. Is this ever going to stop?

Not as long as the right to bear arms is apparently the only unfettered one.
