My new sofa is coming tomorrow! But I still have the old one, and just saw that the store delivery policy says their people can't move existing furniture. What do you think are the odds that they will take my old sofa out anyway, if I tip them extra? Also, how much? $20 each?

Haha, I just put up a panicked craigslist ad for a free sofa with no photos or measurements! That should work, right? Now I just hope I can ask the neighbor to help and we can get it out between the two of us. Ugh.

Three references secured, three jobs applied for. Not bad for before 11 am.
So far there's been a pleasant chorus of "What do you mean they're firing you? That's ridiculous!" from co-workers hearing the news. And I got some free copy editing on my cover letter and resume from a co-worker who's a professional editor, which is always helpful.
